Do you ever wonder what you will leave behind when you die? Perhaps you've not gone so far as to think of that moment when you take your last breath, but granted it will happen. Will you leave a legacy, a family, a book of memories? How about prayers? Have you uttered prayers for a seemingly hopeless situation? Have you pounded on the doors of Heaven for a lost loved one? Think on this... your prayers never, EVER, expire! Isn't that amazing?! Ponder on the fact that when you have said your goodbyes on this earth, that your prayers still linger and Christ continues to intercede on your behalf. This ought to make us more determined to never take for granted the power and the lingering presence of prayer. It has been said that “prayer moves the arm that moves the world;” and if there is anything that can prevail with God, it is prayer - humble, fervent, earnest petitioning. So Pray on. Cry on. In time we will come to realize how much an effect a whispered prayer really had in an individual's life.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16c
