"I cannot add a breath to my own life. I’m utterly incapable of sustaining myself. What I know is this: As a follower of Christ, I have been spared and been given a great mercy. So, in an act that sometimes feels like the death of me, I must believe in His goodness, and that what He's saved me for is so much greater than what He's saved me from."
- An excerpt from a devotional on women of the Bible.
This particular lesson was on Lot's wife. How interesting that we don't even know her name. A mystery woman that is used as an example of taking mercy for granted. She'd been spared. Her family was safe. Yet, that want enough.
Don't look back to what God's saved you from with longing or wonder but look ahead to what He's saved you for with anticipation and desire.
