I'm a teacher. I taught Children's Church and Preschool. I teach young women. I teach Bible classes. With topics ranging from the ABC's to the character of the heart; my sole, most important purpose must be to teach JESUS. When my lesson may not be on the person of Christ, I pray that Who He is is being taught by my attitude, my character, my reponses... by my entire being.
At this point, I am not a mother but I understand that the ministry of motherhood is to teach their offspring true godliness and commitment to the ways of God.
Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
The moral decay of our country proves that perverted curriculum, opinionated ideas and teaching of immorality have proven ineffective for future generations.
In the name of tolerance, we have taught children they can be what they want and do whatever they want as long as it makes them happy.
In the name of happiness, immorality has the stamp of approval but in the end the individual realizes that they are the most miserable.
Psalms 78:8 - And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.
They would seek to become like this generation of Israelites, who followed after their own desires and cursed God in spite of his miraculous care of them.
How many then seek to take out their own life as misery seems to overtake them? How often does the "Pursuit of Happiness" lead to self-destruction? What will it take to truly be content?
In an age that teaches that love is the key to happiness and contentment, the source of love is being snuffed out. The Book that teaches to love our enemies and to do good to those that hate us is being disregarded and condemned. Why then do we shake our fist at God when the unthinkable happens and circumstances shake us to the core of our being, yet we refuse to acknowledge His presence?
Let's teach JESUS. The Biblical Jesus. The Savior Who came down from Heaven to minister to the hurting and humble the self-righteous.
Teach Jesus daily. Demonstrate His character and attitudes through YOUR life.
