The ugly feeling of jealousy almost, almost came over me as I pondered over the nice new vehicles my friends were getting, the temptation to look for better ways to make more money, and the wonderful vacations others raved about. It was then that I reminded myself why I chose to live my life differently. A few years ago the words to a beautiful song became my fervent prayer:
I'll go where you send me, I'll follow where you lead me. Lord, I'll be all I can be. As You search this world over, don't look any farther. Lord, Here am I, send me. The words to that song are more than lyrics to me. They are a daily prayer from a heart that desperately longs to follow in God's will... always. Regardless of my social status, the condition of my vehicle, or the lack of funds in my savings I want to follow Christ above all. He leads us down a road that teaches us to trust and hope in Him. It's not always a smooth and carefree journey but is never lacking in God's presence and faithfulness. When you wish you had more or better or bigger, remember that JESUS is all that you need!
