"My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him." - Psalm 62:5
It seems like we're always waiting on something, no matter what stage of life we are in, from the infant waiting to be fed to the teenager waiting to receive his license to the young adult waiting for their significant other to the weary worker awaiting retirement and so on. A question pierced my heart this morning; "How often do we wait ONLY upon God?" Would it make our self-inflicted torture in the stage of waiting more manageable if we only waited on Him? I mean, honestly, how often do we utter the prayer, "Order my steps", but never take action by handing over the reigns. How much heartache would we save ourselves from if we did indeed wait only on Him? After all, are we really satisfied once we receive those other things that we waited so long for? Is He worth the wait or have you given up already?
