Flashback to GEM's very first Bible Study...
When God becomes your Everything, everything changes! Your view changes, your attitude changes, your everything changes.
Let's look at David as an example. God's Word was his life source. He was always found reading, writing, or singing God's Word. Is it no surprise that he became Israel's hero? His well-known story took place because He made God Everything. The smooth stones were not enough. If that were the case, anyone else could've been the hero. David isn't known for merely being a survivor. He is known for being a conqueror. He went beyond "enough". Because he had faith in his Lifeline - his EVERYTHING - he conquered. What will YOU be known for? Will God be known as your Everything, or only an extra support when needed? Make your choice today. Lesson written and delivered by: Sonia E. Vargas

How many singles wallow in self-pity because their relationship status does not say, "taken", "engaged", or "happily married"? Have you been there? Do you ever feel that slight twinge of jealousy when yet another of your friends announce their engagement?
How many God-given opportunities have been shoved aside because one is too busy scanning the horizon for their 'significant other'? We live in a world where society has written its own self-indulging rules of happiness and true love. The shattered pieces of countless hearts lay scattered in the dust of rejection, dissatisfaction, and emptiness. Many are left wondering about the true purpose of life. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1
What fears do you face? What circumstances make you feel vulnerable and weak? To know the peace of God is to stand strong in the midst of trouble. To trust in the Lord is to have "peace that passes all understanding". When we run on me-strength, our supply runs short quickly. When you rely on the Almighty, threats like bankruptcy, death, suffering, sickness, ISIS, terror, etc, will not shake you. When you place your life in the hands of the one Who holds the universe together, you will know true strength. Read Psalm 27:1-14 |
